About Sew WOW

Sew Wow is the brainchild of the staff at Waechter's Fine Fabrics. My staff and I adore creating children's clothing. One fine day my employee Laura Casey was helping me create garments to be featured in a national magazine. Her comment was we should be doing this for a Waechter's magazine. The idea germinated in my head for a week. I got to thinking that we could create our own magazine if it was formatted for the internet. My web designer approved and Sew Wow came to life.

As we planned the magazine, we decided most of the designs should be created for the intermediate seamstress. Quick and fairly easy were high on our list of criteria. We knew most people prefer projects they can complete in short periods of time. Our twenty first century lifestyle makes true heirloom sewing too demanding for most people.

Today’s children love colorful clothes with a strong sense of style. Kids are not afraid to wear things that are bright and out of the box. Of course that is what we at Waechter's, most like to design. The truth is we design the things our inner child wants to wear.
